Great if you are wanting large meals or mains but not suitable if you just want a drink and a snack. The smoothie was lovely but the toasted sandwich was small and not worth $10.

How amazing has this place become over the last couple of years?! This venue has grown up and has had someone fabulous go through and create a great vision for this property by tweaking some of the elements to make it more appealing. It has an amazing outdoor set up with a great vibe with the tree and the deck really being a hero on the day. They were really customer focused and help find a space for us that was great for my mum who needed to be in the shade and they were dog friendly too and helped accommodate my dachshund who was with us. The service was great from start to finish with nothing being to difficult and the timing was great too on drinks & food. The servings are very generous and the food was well balanced and delicious. I would highly recommend heading here if you were on the mountain for a great lunch.

Amazing atmosphere and great coffee. Atmosphere saved the experience as the guy at the counter was unfriendly and didnt seem to want us there. A simple smile and a little effort would have made this a 5 star cause everything else was great!

Probably one of the worst restaurants that I ve ever eaten at in a long time. Please save yourself the hassle and skip this restaurant. The management, communication, and direction is very poor. It is unclear whether you see yourself or have table assigned to you, even the response from staff was inconsistent. It was difficult to get a menu, table water, clean cutlery, and condiments. We had to wait 30 minutes before we could even order, which is honestly when we should ve left, I watched other patron leave because of the poor service. Their excuses is their busy and understaffed, but the way this business is run needs a complete overhaul. The only good thing about this was that the food was very tasty!

Don t go here unless you have a PhD in how the menu works. A menu should not require prologue that explains to customers what is available when; it should stipulate serving hours on each relevant page. It should also make clear on each page what counts as breakfast , lunch , dinner and all day menus. When I ordered a breakfast item no one stipulated that what I was ordering couldn t be ordered past 11am, and the staff instead served me a far more stripped-back lunch equivalent of what I actually ordered. When I questioned it, the owner was very dismissive and said it was written in the menu prologue and also on a sign in the bar (a collapsed chalk board tucked under the till that looked like it was not in use). He spoke in a rude tone as if it was my fault that I didn t understand. On top of this, I had to get up and collect cutlery myself when our meals were served as they did not come with cutlery. Our entire group were confused by the ordering system and judging by other reviews this appears to be a theme. Judging by the owner s defensive responses to reviews online it s unlikely he will listen to his customers and improve the clarity of his menu. A shame as the location of the bar is great and it s a nice setup, let down by poor service and attitude.

When travelling to a new location on holiday it can be quite daunting to find somewhere for everyone to eat , especially when you have fussy eaters in your party . I was very impressed by the service of the Monkey Tree , as we had people with both food allergies and a very picky eater. I was quite apprehensive but our server , Maxine , bent over backwards to accommodate us . The teenagers had some garlic bread - I could hear the crunch of the bread as they bit into it . My youngest also had a bowl of mashed potato with gravy- a strange request to be sure , but they have sensory issues and this is a comfort food for them. My friend had the lamb shanks - it was cooked perfectly and fell off the bone , and the accompanying vegetables were very flavoursome. They were also impressed by the celery that came with the vegetables , they don t usually like celery so were very pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted And I had a rump steak , which was cooked medium- so moist and juicy - with the mashed potato and steamed veggies. It sounds trivial , but the mashed potato was amazing, and we were scraping it off our plates . Simple things done well are often the most memorable . To drink , I had the Wildflower Pink Gin from the newer Wildflower distillery on the Gold Coast , which is a lovely slightly sweet gin , with both citrusy and floral tones and tasted similar to Hibiscus flowers. If you like gin , this is something to try . The place had a relaxing ambiance - I m a sucker for fairy lights - it had both indoor and outside seating and an indoor and outdoor stage for any weather conditions . We rounded off our dinner with a few little cakes , which was a pleasant way to end the meal . It was also amusing to see a few quirky decorations around the place, as they both added to the atmosphere and gave it a whimsical air . I do want to thank the staff , and Maxine especially, for their effort and patience for a wonderful experience and for the effort they put in to make our evening memorable .

My wife and I had a wonderful evening at Monkey Tree Restaurant and Bar, our steaks was cooked perfectly. The place has a good vibe about it, the bar is very well stocked, and the staff and the owner were very hospitable and friendly. We would have loved to hear Mark (the owner) play the steel drum and didgeridoo amoungts other instruments. May be next time. We will definitely be back. I & N Salter Gold Coast

To be fair They were little busy. $99 lunch for two. Whole entree and main came before the drinks is biggest let down of the meal. Staff were friendly, however the barramundi was frozen store brought version quite bland and tasteless. The salad was exceptional very tasty 2.5 /5 Meal two was Chicken parmigiana. Again was missing some taste however the salad and chips complimented the meal 3./5 Entrees Garlic bread with cheese and bacon 4/5 Bowl of chips 5/5 with mushroom gravy very nice meal. Service from staff who serviced us very friendly however did not mention that the Parmi came with chips as stated only salad. We would not have ordered extra if we were aware of this unfortunately. Portions where quite large so if your hungry you will definitely get fair amount of food. Ice long black: mild in strength 3/5 and the second drink Matcha was 3/5 Overall experience was 3/5 bit to improve however for tambourine mountain I guess it s normal.
